As a standalone hospital dedicated to cardiovascular care, our training facility provides fellows experience in a broad range of cardiovascular pathology in a diverse population
The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at The Heart Hospital, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a three-year program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). COCATS Level II training is expected for all fellows in all rotation.
Located in Plano, TX, The Heart Hospital is a unique training facility dedicated to the comprehensive care of cardiac patients. As a quaternary referral center, The Heart Hospital is staffed by a faculty of nationally- and internationally-renowned cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and vascular surgeons.
The mission of our training program is to expose fellows to a broad range of cardiac pathology and a diverse patient population, while ensuring consistent opportunities to contribute to meaningful clinical research and other scholarly activities. A unique feature of our program is the close working relationship we have with our cardiothoracic and vascular surgery faculty and fellows (who consistently rank in the Top 10 hospitals for surgical volume), with several shared conferences weekly.
Our program accepts four fellows each year.
As the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, Baylor Scott & White serves 41 counties through 52 hospitals, more than 1,200 access points, more than 7,100 active physicians, more than 52,000 team members and the Baylor Scott & White Health Plan.
