ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive disease of the nervous system affecting more than 5,500 people in the United States annually.
Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease affects approximately five million people in America. It is the most common cause of dementia, a disorder in which cognitive functions deteriorate.

Brain aneurysm
A brain aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of a brain artery. If this bulge tears and bleeds, nearby cells may be damaged. A brain aneurysm can occur in an artery wall that is weak or has a defect.
Brain cancer
Baylor Scott & White Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center – Temple, located in Temple, Texas, offers an integrated care team for the treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors in collaboration with the Baylor Scott & White Neuroscience Institute.
Concussion
A concussion is a type of brain injury caused by a sudden impact to your head. It can also be caused by sudden movement of your brain inside your head, such as from forceful shaking.
Dementia
Dementia is the name for a group of brain conditions that make it harder to remember, reason and communicate. With dementia, nerve cells in the brain are gradually damaged or destroyed.
Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder involving recurrent seizures. It is one of the most common disorders involving the brain, affecting people regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
Essential tremors
Essential tremor (ET) is a nervous system disorder that causes involuntary and rhythmic shaking, known as tremors. Tremors impact different parts and different sides of the body including hands, head, voice, legs and trunk.

Hydrocephalus
Hydrocephalus, once called "water on the brain," occurs when excess fluid builds up in the brain—most often because of an obstruction preventing proper fluid drainage.

Multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease of the central nervous system. It is thought to be an autoimmune disorder. Myelin, a fatty tissue that surrounds and protects the nerve fibers, is lost in multiple areas with MS.

Parkinson’s disease
Parkinson's disease is a progressive brain disease characterized by the loss of dopamine cells. More than 1.5 million Americans are diagnosed with this condition.
Pituitary tumors
The pituitary gland is a small organ in the brain. Most pituitary tumors are not cancerous, but because of where the gland is located, many tumors will press against the optic nerves.
Skull base tumors
Tumors of the skull base can occur within various anatomic sites. If brain tumor symptoms are present, like pain at the base of the skull, you will receive a neurological exam to check vision, hearing, balance, coordination and reflexes.

Traumatic brain injury
The most common causes of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) are falls, blunt accidental trauma, motor vehicle accidents and assault.

Dale Riley: Spine surgery reduced my pain level to a "0"
When asked to rate his pain from zero to 10, Dale Riley needed a higher number. "It was the worst pain I ever had." An MRI revealed the source: a cyst in Dale's spinal column pushing against nerves. "I went to Baylor Scott & White Health to see what they could do."
More testing helped Dale's surgeon devise a plan. "He told me exactly how he would remove the cyst." The procedure was successful. "When I woke up, the pain was gone." After one night in the hospital, Dale rested at home—but not for long. "I got back to fishing and hunting—pain-free—in just a few weeks."
