Ananth Vellimana, MD, FACS, FAANS, is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disorders, brain tumors, skull base tumors and complex neurological conditions. He sees patients ... in Dallas, Texas, and provides advanced surgical and endovascular care for disorders affecting the brain, spine and vascular system.


Dr. Vellimana has expertise in the full spectrum of cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, including the treatment of brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), cavernous malformations, moyamoya disease, carotid artery stenosis and ischemic stroke. His clinical interests also include minimally invasive neurovascular procedures, stroke intervention and complex cerebrovascular surgery, allowing him to provide highly specialized, individualized care for patients with vascular disorders of the brain and spine.

In addition, Dr. Vellimana specializes in the treatment of skull base tumors and brain tumors, including pituitary tumors, meningiomas, vestibular schwannomas (acoustic neuromas), chordomas and other benign and malignant cranial lesions. He utilizes both open microsurgical techniques and minimally invasive endoscopic approaches to develop personalized treatment plans focused on achieving the best possible outcomes while preserving neurological function.

Dr. Vellimana also provides comprehensive care for a wide range of general neurosurgical conditions, including intrinsic brain tumors, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury, spine trauma and degenerative spine disorders affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. His broad expertise enables him to offer advanced treatment options across a diverse range of neurosurgical conditions while emphasizing evidence-based care and shared decision-making.
