What is an ACO?

An ACO is a healthcare collaboration that ties payments to quality measures and the cost of care. ACOs are formed by a group of providers that are committed to being accountable to patients and payers for the quality, appropriateness and efficiency of healthcare services that are delivered. ACOs are all about doctors, hospitals, health plans, post-acute care facilities and others working together to make sure you get the right care at the right time and at the right cost.

National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) ACO accreditation

BSWQA is accredited by NCQA as a level-2 ACO. That means that as an ACO, BSWQA has the capacity and motivation to collaboratively and accountably improve quality, reduce costs and coordinate patient care across all sites of care (hospitals, clinics, post-acute care facilities, etc.). NCQA ACO accreditation also recognizes BSWQA for its success in collecting, integrating and using data to provide quality, well-coordinated patient-centered care.
