When cancer surgery is the best treatment option, we have a team of board-certified surgical oncologists in Fort Worth focused on finding, diagnosing and treating cancer through surgical intervention. Our state-of-the-art surgical techniques and equipment is focused on minimally invasive procedures. Typically, this type of treatment is combined with other options, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or hormone therapy.

Adolescent and young adult cancers

Each year, almost 90,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer. AYA oncology is defined by the National Cancer Institute as cancer care or research focused on those diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 15 to 39 years old. This age group faces unique challenges when it comes to cancer treatment. Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center

​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center provides hope for all who hear the words, “You have cancer.” All non-medical services are offered by the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center at no cost to patients and their families regardless of where they receive their direct medical care. From diagnosis to survivorship, patients may come to the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center for a variety of services.


Our patient navigators are here to support, empower, educate and encourage you and your family throughout your treatment journey and survivorship. Patient navigators are the cornerstone of the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center. Navigators partner with patients and families during the course of diagnosis, treatment, and healing by becoming an advocate, guide, and facilitator. Because the treatment of cancer requires the interaction of multiple specialties, the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center provides a coordinated, integrated, and compassionate approach to each patient’s treatment.

Onward! The survivorship journey offers programs for current patients and cancer survivors designed to provide tools that may reduce tension, anxiety, anger or fatigue and promote a healthy overall well-being.

Art therapy

Art therapy provides a safe place to communicate feelings and experiences of being a cancer survivor through the creative process.

  • Class take place the first Wednesday of every month from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center

Exercise classes for cancer patients and caregivers

  • Yoga Therapy

    Yoga therapy is designed to promote the wellness of cancer patience through yoga techniques. Classes are available for all cancer survivors, patients and their families, regardless of where they are receiving treatment. Classes are held every Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center.

  • ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Program

    ReVital is a groundbreaking rehabilitation program that empowers cancer survivors to live their best lives. This unique program was developed by Select Medical, a leading provider of post-acute care and is the basis of the cancer rehabilitation program at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation. ReVital currently serves patients in more than 300 locations across nearly 15 states.

  • Kourage Health

    For cancer patients and survivors, the Kourage Health program is just what the doctor ordered. This physician-referred exercise education program pairs patients with a medical exercise specialist who works one-on-one with them to build and maintain healthy habits.

Survivor Gals Cancer Boutique is a special boutique available to help you look and feel your best during your cancer treatment. Survivor Gals offers products and services that minimize the effects of cancer therapy.
